Class held on THURSDAY'S (3:15-4:15)
This workshop is designed to give children between the ages of 6 – 13 years, a beginning foundation in WOODWORKING and "HANDS-on Engineering: activities and techniques".
The class will allow students to build upon educational skill such as math, science, engineering, technolgy, critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving and etc.. Students will be predominantly using tools including: hammer, drill, screwdriver, pull and coping saws, ruler, tape measure, pliers, clamps, smoothing plane, sandpaper to name a few.
Also, hand tools for safe construction with the exception of the battery powered hand drills and both manual and plug-in random orbital Festool sanders. These tools activities and techniques will be used in creating landscaping and gardening structures. Students will learn how to use these skills for building recycling projects with the use of environmental materials, as well as just making fun creative projects such as a cell phone holder, miniature race car building, egg drop STEM challenege and much MORE!
